Synthetic Media and Content Provenance for Marketing Teams

3 mins read

Generative image, voice, and video tools can accelerate creative work, but teams need a record of what was generated, edited, licensed, and approved.

Create a provenance trail

Store the brief, source assets, model or service, material edits, reviewer, and final export together. Preserve original files and avoid removing provenance metadata when the publishing channel supports it.

Set disclosure rules

Disclosure depends on context. A stylized campaign illustration differs from a realistic depiction of a person or event. Establish stricter review for testimonials, news-like imagery, public figures, health claims, and financial promotions.

Protect identity and ownership

Obtain permission before cloning a voice or likeness. Review training and output terms for commercial use, and check generated assets for trademarks or recognizable copyrighted characters. A fast generation workflow still needs accountable publication.
